In #NY, only 18.89% of those balloted actually #VOTED in the #SAGAFTRA Election, the outcome of which determines whether #Union Background Actors - who, because their jobs have been cut by more than half & because #BG have not been granted an actual raise for more than a decade, are now making, on average, less than $1200 per month - will survive.
So Rebecca Damon and her slate - many of whom are the men who wrote the disparaging comments about Union Background Actors that are posted on the Background Artists Coalition Facebook Page, and which men stated in those comments that they would NOT advocate for Union Background Actors and which men in those written comments expressed their resentment for Union Background Actors who have the audacity to advocate for themselves - were re-elected much to the detriment of Union Background Actors.
And Nationally, despite 2 Federal Criminal Fraud Indictments; Both Pension Funds Robbed of nearly $6 MILLION DOLLARS collectively; Multiple Violations of the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA); Multiple Violations of Union Election Laws and Denying NY Background Artists their right to Reasonable Notice (they only gave BG 3 Business Days Notice) to participate in W&W discussion affecting the terms and conditions of their own Contract, much to the detriment of Union Background Actors, the Membership Re-Elected Gabrielle Carteris who - in concert with her right hand man, David White, and her right hand woman, Rebecca Damon, - oversaw it all.
